Over two years after the release of the Oppo A37, Oppo has finally introduced the Oppo A38. Although Oppo has not officially confirmed whether the A38 is a successor to the A37, we do have full specifications from the company’s website. Let’s explore the Oppo A38’s features and discuss its cost and availability in Nepal.
Oppo A38 Overview:
Design and Display
Oppo A38’s design isn’t even extraordinary. It has a simple design, a rectangular shape with rounded corners, and a shiny back. However, it appears that the frame has a matte appearance. Along with a slightly primitive waterdrop notch for the front camera, the phone’s front bezels are fairly obvious. An “Innovative AI Camera” is written alongside the two cameras on the back of the phone. Its dimensions are around (163.74 x 75.03 x 8.16) mm and it weighs about 190 grams.
Oppo has given it a “90Hz Sunlight Display” on the screen side of things. To be clear, it has a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720) LCD panel with a maximum brightness of 720 nits. The phone has a refresh and touch sampling rate of 90Hz. However, you can also reduce the refresh rate to 60Hz. The screen can display 16.7 million different colors and has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut in vivid mode. Oppo also asserts that the display uses 14.7% less power.
Performance and Memory
The Oppo A38 is powered by an 8-core, 12 nm MediaTek Helio G85 CPU with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. A Mali G52 MC2 GPU is attached to it. Similar to this, the phone has an internal 4 GB LPDDR4x RAM and an additional 4 GB of expandable virtual RAM. You also receive 128 GB of storage, which, if necessary, can be increased to 1 TB via a MicroSD Card.
Camera
The phone features two cameras: a 50-megapixel primary camera with a maximum aperture of f/1.8 and a 2-megapixel secondary mono camera for bokeh mode. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel camera with a 76.8° field of view and fixed focus capability. Oppo has enhanced its AI Portrait Retouching capabilities with cameras to “restore your most beautiful, natural looks.”
Both, the front and back cameras can record video at a resolution of 1080P at 30 frames per second.
Battery and Others
The phone is powered by an immense 5,000 mAh battery that allows advanced 33W SUPERVOOC charging. According to Oppo, a 5% charge will provide you with a call time of more than 1.6 hours and will charge your phone from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes. The Oppo A38 is supplied with Android 13 and ColorOS 13.1.
The Oppo A38 offers you a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security while also supporting facial recognition. The phone features a USB Type-C interface, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and Wi-Fi 5.
